ThelasttimethebacklogwasthislowwasinMay2020,duringPresidentDonaldTrump’sfirsttermintheWhiteHouse.
“UnderPresidentTrump,VAisprovidingVeterans,families,caregiversandsurvivorsallofthebenefitstheyhaveearnedasquicklyandconvenientlyaspossible,”SecretaryofVeteransAffairsDougCollinssaidinanewsrelease.
ThismilestonemeansthedepartmenthasnowslashedthebacklogofveteranswaitingforVAbenefitsby63%sinceTrumpreturnedtoofficeinJanuary2025afteritrose24%undertheBidenadministration,accordingtotherelease.
