ThedistrictswereurgedtochangethesepoliciesafteraninvestigationbytheEducationDepartment’sOfficeforCivilRights(OCR)foundtheschoolstobeinviolationofTitleIX,whichprohibitssex-baseddiscriminationineducation.TheOCRissuedaproposedresolutionagreement,askingthedistrictstorescindthesepoliciesvoluntarilyor“riskimminentenforcementaction,includingreferraltotheU.S.DepartmentofJustice.”
