HibaRahim,thechapter’sdeputyexecutivedirector,saidduringanewsconferencethattheorderwasanattackrootedinconspiracytheoriesandcomparedittohistoricaleffortsthattargetedJewish,IrishandItalianAmericancommunities.
“WeareveryproudtodefendthefoundingprinciplesofourConstitution,todefendfreespeech,”Rahimsaidatanewsconference.“Weareproudtodefenddemocracy,andweareproudtobeAmericafirst.”
Rahimarguedthatthegovernor’ssupportforIsraelplayedaroleintheorder,sayingthegroup’sactivismhadcaused“discomfort”totheU.S.ally.ShesaidCAIRdoesnotintendtobackdown.
