Gov.GlennYoungkinlaidouthisplanstoaddresshumantraffickingduringanannualconferenceTuesday,sayingtheTrumpadministrationhasbeenashotinthearmtostatelawenforcementasitattemptstotackletheelusiveissue.
Youngkin,joinedbyVirginiaAttorneyGeneralJasonMiyaresandotherstateattorneysgeneral,comparedhumantraffickingenforcementtoaddressingtransnationalgangs.
“Wemusthavemulti-stateandfederalsupportinordertodismantlethenetworks,notjustarrestanindividual,we’vegottounpackthenetworks,”Youngkintoldacrowdofafewhundred.
TheTrumpadministrationhasbeenaboontohumantraffickingenforcementefforts,Youngkinsaid,notinghemetwithtopJusticeDepartmentofficialsattheWhiteHouseaftertheinaugurationtodiscussthematterandfoundthemreceptive.Virginialawenforcementhassincebeencoordinatingwiththefederalgovernmenttotakedownforeigngangoperations,whichYoungkinsaidover
